Free hybrid Ebor Lecture: Earth-Hope Wednesday 8 May, 5pm. Not a Planet South Bank event, but we think this lecture will be of keen interest to environmentally-minded people in York.

Summary of the lecture: Through the coming climate chaos we will find common cause in a spiritual orientation to our planetary home (5pm -6pm) – online and in-person at York St John University.

Rupert Read is Co-Director of the Climate Majority Project and Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of East Anglia. He is the author of several books, including “This Civilisation is Finished”, “Parents for a Future”, “Why Climate Breakdown Matters” and “Do you want to know the truth? The surprising rewards of climate honesty.” Link for tickets.

Street-re-Cycle, Sunday 12 May, 12 midday to 4pm. Now in its tenth year!

Your local opportunity to clear out clutter and meet folk in your community too. Be part of a trail of local addresses, for people to come and buy/swap/take away the things you no longer need.

Maybe you’ll start putting things bit by bit over the next few weeks, getting things ready for the day? Or maybe you’ll plan a weekend beforehand for a big clear-out? Either way, it’s a great chance to ‘walk more lightly on the earth’ and to pass your stuff on to a good home.

Register your address to be on the trail – email info@planetsouthbank.org.uk or send us a message through our Contact page
