We’re pleased to announce the next monthly climate cafe, taking place outdoors in Rowntree Park.
All welcome, especially if you’ve not attended one before.
A climate cafe is a small gathering of up to around 10 people. It’s a place where fears, uncertainties and hopes about our climate crisis can be safely expressed – over a hot drink and a slice of cake 🙂
It’s a confidential, respectful, thinking and feeling space where people can talk informally about what climate change and the ecological crisis means for them, perhaps find common ground, and listen to others’ diverse experiences and feelings.
There are a lot of these groups now in cities across the UK, and the cafe’s in York are run by York Climate Cafe in association with Planet South Bank. We use the model developed by the Climate Psychology Alliance, which has provided training to our facilitators.
This month’s cafe will be held in Rowntree park. Meet at the Dovecot beside the library cafe at 7pm and bring whatever warm clothing you think you’ll need. If you can bring your own mug that would be great, but we will have some spares.
Please arrive on time for 7pm: we will do an introduction to set up the space at the beginning of the session.
