| The People’s Emergency Briefing film has made it to York – don’t miss your chance to see it. It’s a free, 50-minute film that delivers the facts about the climate-related threats we face, but also emphasises the enormous benefits of genuine emergency action. It features reactions and perspectives from members of the public and some more familiar faces too – Chris Packham is the narrator. Here’s a trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaI-dHgh65Q YorkCliConnect has worked with City of York Council, York Climate Commission and Planet South Bank to put together this flagship screening. There are still places available, and we would love to see you there. The key details: Saturday 9th May, 2:30-4:30pm Tempest Anderson Hall at the Yorkshire Museum, Museum Gardens, YO1 7FR Book your place via Ticket Tailor: www.tickettailor.com/events/yorkcliconnect/2158955 After the screening, York Central MP Rachael Maskell and a panel of speakers will bring their perspectives. The aim is for the film screenings across York to become a platform for ongoing discussions and actions that help us accelerate positive change in our city, together. Spread the word: bring your friends, work colleagues, neighbours, and anyone else who could do with an opportunity to feel part of a community that actually does care about these global issues and who want to do something about it. In line with Planet South Bank’s focus on encouraging local adaptation, together with Clements Hall we are also organising a local screening of the film, on Friday 19 June 2026. The time has been chosen to be as parent-friendly as possible! Local speakers after the film will share projects and opportunities here in the South Bank area where you can get involved, meet local people and make a difference in the place where you love.
