Planet South Bank and Clements Hall have organised a meeting to explore what we can do to address food security locally in the context of a potential emergency and food shortages.

The meeting is on Monday 5 October at Clements Hall (Art Room, upstairs) at 7.30pm. We do hope you are able to attend – please e-mail linda.speidel@clementshall.org.uk if you’re planning to come along.

We should be in a position to report back on a prior meeting with Rachael Maskell MP on this subject too.

We ran an on-street survey on Bishopthorpe Road in August on food security, which had plenty of engagement – see the photo of the ‘dot’ questions below. The survey indicated that people feel York can do more to feed itself; they also wanted more information about what can be done locally – which is why the meeting on 5 October is happening.
