York Cycle Campaign – a manifesto for a better city

We’ve heard about this event:

This Wednesday evening, 25 January 2023, York Cycle Campaign will launch 42 Ways to Transform York – its manifesto for a better city.

More information from the York Cycle Campaign:

How can York become the healthiest, happiest and most equitable city in the UK?

We’ve spent the last year identifying what we believe is required to set our wonderful city on the path to achieving its full potential. Our starting point was to understand what was needed to create a cycle-friendly city, but – because movement is about so much more than getting from A to B – the end point is a city where everyone in York  is able to lead better lives and to thrive.

The launch event takes place on Wednesday 25th January at the Priory Street Centre, York. The event starts at 7pm. Get your free ticket here: Tickets – 42 Ways

Copies of the manifesto will be available on the night and refreshments will be provided.

Planet South Bank’s response to the Council’s draft Climate Change Strategy

We really enjoyed the stall we held on Bishy Road a few weeks ago, encouraging folk to take part in the Council’s draft Strategy.

It was great to meet people – to discuss their priorities for the city, and to tap into their interest and energy for meaningful climate change responses in York.

As Planet South Bank, we submitted our thoughts on the draft Strategy. If you’d like to read it, you can view or download below. And this is our page of resources on the draft Climate Change Strategy.
